Troubled star BRITNEY SPEARS’ former manager LARRY RUDOLPH has refuted reports the singer is in secret negotiations to stage a major comeback spectacular in Las Vegas.Rumours of a Sin City performance emerged earlier this month (May08), after the pop star was spotted dining with Palms Hotel + Casino owner George Maloof Jr. in Los Angeles. But Rudolph has denied claims the Toxic hitmaker will be appearing on stage in the Nevada city.He tells the Las Vegas Review Journal, “She’s not here (in Las Vegas) and she’s not coming in. Britney Spears has made seemingly great strides in the last several months, staying under the radar, winning back her visitation with her sons and even appearing twice on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. However, after another long afternoon in an L.A. courtroom, during which the 26-year old singer’s medical and pyschological condition were reviewed in length, the commissioner ruled that Britney’s health continues to be “somewhat tenuous” and that she is still incapable of making decisions for herself.Neither Brit nor her father Jamie Spears were present at Thursday’s hearing. Commissioner Goetz approved a request for Jamie to receive more money per week in order to continue caring for Britney. The singer’s court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham told the court today he believed it was better that Britney not participate in the legal affairs of her person and estate, adding it “in fact could be harmful to her to participate.”After reviewing her medical status, the commissioner agreed, saying, “Her medical condition remains the same. Though there has been changes in her medication, I think in terms of her diagnosis, it’s not complete.”The commissioner will review Brit’s condition again on June 17. In the meantime, a trial is set for July 31 to determine whether to dissolve or extend the conservatorship.Source: OK!
Musicians go solo because they can. Usually because they’re the singer in the band and fans always identify with the singer. And the money’s better. Why split the money with the bass player when you can hire someone for scale? No one cares who the bass player is–unless he’s also the singer. Then he goes solo anyway. Most bands are doomed to break up anyhow. Or they spend less time together. Not like the old days when they were all in the van together in a valiant all-for-one effort. Money changes everything. Lack of money changes it, too. And screwing around with your bandmate’s girlfriend doesn’t help either. Those things end badly.Solo success, however, is not guaranteed. Look at Mick Jagger. He’s been trying to leave the Rolling Stones for years.1) Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake–Mickey Mouse Club: Hey, everybody, it’s the triumvirate from hell! Three former Mickey Mouse Mouskateers come into our lives and then reemerge many years later in a scarier, altered form. They’ve made science fiction movies about this stuff and it always ends badly. It’s hard to believe that just five months ago, Britney Spears shocked the world by holing up inside her home with her youngest son Jayden James while the authorities attempted to return the one-year-old child to the custody of his father, Kevin Federline. But on May 26, it was not only a completely different scene but a different Britney who snuggled and played with her sons Sean Preston,2, and Jayden,21 months, as the little family rang in the Memorial Day holiday at her Studio City, Calif., home.”Sean Preston wouldn’t let go of Britney,” an eyewitness tells OK!. “He didn’t want to leave her side. Every time she tried to put him down, he would clinch himself closer to her.” At one point, the toddler hit his hand, and ran to his mother for comfort. “Sean started crying, and then he was resting his head on Britney’s shoulder.”Friends say Britney has finally accepted the help she needs to get better, taking her court-mandated parenting classes seriously and even reading self-help books
It was a girls’ night out plus dad for Britney Spears Friday. Spears, in a loose dress and sun-kissed blonde hair, told PEOPLE she’s doing “good” at designer pal Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday party at L.A.’s Petersen Automotive Museum. Spears, 26, hung with two girlfriends in a roped-off VIP area at Audigier’s blowout gala. Fergie, Snoop Dogg, Pamela Anderson and surprise! Michael Jackson also made appearances. Jamie Spears joined his daughter, sitting on a couch about five feet away with his head resting on his hands. Spears stayed about an hour and a half, smoking cigarettes on an outside patio, nodding her head to a live performance from Macy Gray, and abstaining from alcohol. When she left for the evening, her father joined her. “I am friends with Britney,” Audigier told PEOPLE before the party. “She was at my office, I believe, three weeks ago. She got some presents for Jamie-Lynn and herself too. She got a ton of T-shirts, a ton of caps. She loved it.” Spears left the party before Jackson, clad in a shiny blue shirt, came onstage to wish Audigier happy birthday. Jamie Spears’ full-time job is now working for his daughter as conservator of her estate, court papers show. The pop star returned home from a Costa Rican vacation at Mel Gibson’s house earlier this week. Source: People Online
Britney Spears is back in the recording studio with J.R. Rotem and Sean Garrett, the producers confirm to PEOPLE.”She’s great,” Rotem told PEOPLE at the BMI Pop Awards in Beverly Hills on Tuesday. “She’s like a master at what she does. She’s a lot more experienced than most people. She just has the ‘it’ factor that not every artist has. So it’s always nice to work with her.”Although Rotem, who briefly dated Spears in 2007, would not reveal any details of the project, a Spears family source tells PEOPLE that the pop star is in the early stages of a follow-up to her last album Blackout, which was released last October.”Britney is in the experimental stages of a new album,” says the source. “She’s trying to find the sound and direction she wants to go in, but nothing is set in stone just yet. She has been playing the piano a lot and just singing. She says she misses ‘just singing.’”Producer Sean Garrett was mum on specifics but says that he and Spears, 26, have “a few things in the works.” At the BMI Pop Awards, Garrett told PEOPLE: “I’m just happy to see her back and recovering. She’s really shaping up and getting her whole situation back together. I’m really proud and happy to see her.”A rep for Spears’s record label had no comment. Source: People
Britney Spears just got back from a Costa Rican getaway with Mel Gibson, but already she’s putting in face time with another power player.Last night, a sun-kissed Brit went to Il Sole on Sunset with George Maloof, the Palms Casino Hotel owner whom she had dinner with last week. But it gets better. Brit-Brit didn’t speak to the paps at all Tuesday night, even as they lobbed questions at her while snapping pics.Instead, she gave her best modelesque pout as she pushed through the crowd and stayed mum. She’s come a long way from the bizarre British accent and accepting rides from photogs, right?Hey, Brit, keep up the good work!Source: E! Online
