Britney @ #19 on Maxim's Hot 100 Sexiest List
Posted on 13 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Speaking of Britney Spears and her reformation, the songstress has successfully strutted her way back onto the Top 20 of Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list — scraping in at No. 19. Seeing as though our gal didn’t even make the cut last year, we’re pretty proud of how far she’s come.

After sneak-peaking at the steamy list, we can safely say Spears beat the likes of Cameron Diaz, Beyonce, Penelope Cruz, Mandy Moore and Sienna Miller.

"... [Britney] still oozes genuine sexiness, and if anyone can make a comeback, it's her," a Maxim editor said.

But there are a few sexy surprises as well — the not-so "Ugly" America Ferrera comes in at No. 84, Emma Watson makes her debut at No. 94, tattooed Tinseltowner Kat Von D is No. 62 and Meg from "Family Guy" (aka Mila Kunis) gets to show off much more than just her voice in the men's mag as she comes in at No. 81.

But who was the hottest on the hot list? Stay tuned.

Preliminary Ratings Are In for last night's episode
Posted on 13 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Fast National ratings for Monday, May 12, 2008

"Dancing with the Stars" led ABC to ratings win Monday night, while the return of NBC's "American Gladiators" was punchless against a full slate of competition.

ABC averaged a 9.3 rating/15 share for the night. FOX took second with a 7.5/11, edging CBS' 7.3/11. NBC was well back in fourth with a 3.7/6, and The CW trailed with a 1.8/3.

Thanks to "House," FOX led among adults 18-49 with a 4.5 rating. CBS, 4.0, came in second, beating out ABC, 3.7. NBC averaged 2.2 and The CW 1.2.

"Dancing with the Stars" dominated the 8 p.m. hour with an 11.5/18. "Bones," 5.9/9, put FOX in second. CBS finished third with "The Big Bang Theory," 5.0/8, and "How I Met Your Mother," 5.5/9. The premiere of "American Gladiators" managed only a 2.9/5 for NBC. The CW's "Gossip Girl" brought up the rear.

ABC stayed in front at 9 p.m. with "Dancing," 12.6/19, and "Samantha Who?," 7.5/11. "House" scored a 9.0/13 for FOX (and was the night's top show among adults 18-49). "Two and a Half Men," 8.5/13, and "Rules of Engagement," 6.7/10, kept CBS in third. "American Gladiators" held steady for NBC, and "One Tree Hill" delivered a 1.8/3 for The CW.

"CSI: Miami," 9.0/15, moved CBS to the lead at 10 p.m. The finale of "The Bachelor: London Calling" posted a 6.4/11 for ABC. "Medium" earned a 5.4/9 for NBC.

PEOPLE: Critic Reviews Britney's Return To 'How I Met Your Mother'
Posted on 13 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Britney Spears returned to CBS’s How I Met Your Mother Monday as Abby, the silly-vulnerable receptionist with an unrequited crush on Ted (Josh Radnor). The ratings spiked with her first appearance, so she was quickly shoehorned into this new episode.

The fact that Britney’s second guest spot really didn’t work was no fault of hers. She’s not at all bad at playing clunkily-sweetly dumb. I liked the way she tried to vent her conflicted feelings of anger and love for Ted while lying in bed and staring dreamily at the ceiling: “You know what I hate most about Ted? His stupid hair … His stupid, lame, awesome hair. It’s so stupid and awesome,” she said with a cute, singsong lilt.

But the script was an awful piece of specialty construction. Abby’s reverie occurred in a bed shared with Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), who was also feeling rejected by Ted — as a friend. His and Abby’s mutual annoyance turned them both on, so they slept together.

Then they decided to pose as a couple to annoy Ted. Then Barney carried the joke too far by proposing to Abby. Then Abby suddenly thought Barney really loved her. Then, to get out of the engagement, Barney told Abby that their romance had done the trick and now a jealous Ted did love Abby. And then Abby got this crazy love-hungry Shelley Winters-like gleam in her eye, setting up the possibility for a third guest spot.

Well, that’s a lot to cram into the subplot of a 20-odd-minute show. It would have taken me less time to type out the synopsis of Dangerous Liaisons. The twists felt arbitrary and perverse, even for a so-so sitcom, which is what HIMYM is.

It’s time for Britney to move on to her next cameo project. Ugly Betty would have been a good fit, but Lindsay Lohan is already there.

Miley Cyrus Defends 'Normal' Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan
Posted on 12 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Teen star Miley Cyrus has come to the defense of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears--insisting it's "normal" for young stars to run wild.

The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star, who has come under fire for a set of racy photos published in Vanity Fair last month, is adamant that the pair have "good hearts."

Cyrus says, "Everyone has their time. And I think most 21- to 25-year-olds go through this kind of thing. Basically, they're being normal 21-year-olds, especially Lindsay (Lohan). I mean, most of that's pretty normal. If you went to most high schools, I could point out Britneys and Lindsays.

"I guess that's why I'm so adamant about the Britneys and Lindsays and whatever, because I know those people and I know they have good hearts and they're just struggling."

Britney Shows Charm On "Mother" Set
Posted on 12 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Britney Spears will reprise her role as Abby on CBS' Comedy "How I Met Your Mother" tonight and previews show she and Barney, Neil Patrick Harris' character, are united in their hate of Ted.

"They take it pretty far. It is quite, quite funny," says series co-star Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily. "I don't want to give away the big spoilers, although I have seen it in the commercial. There could be a proposal. You never know."

Hannigan says working with Spears was a delight.

"She's very polite and sweet. She's got the southern charm. And she's just a -- you know, she comes in, she does her stuff. She's very funny. And really sweet. And she liked my dogs."

This is Spears' second time guest-starring on the show.

"We're all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again," said Craig Thomas, executive producer of the show. "And just to head it off at the pass this time around: Yes, Mom, Britney's very nice and no, I can't get her autograph for you."

This time around her character Abby will flaunt her "relationship" with Barney, in an attempt to get a rise out of Ted. Barney, who had a falling out with Ted, will even go as far as popping a surprising question to Abby to get to his former pal.

Of course, the camera is not on Spears for the entire episode. Hannigan's character has shopaholic tendencies that spiral out of control in this episode. So Marshall, her husband, sets up a Web site to sell her clothes in order to raise money.

"Actually," says Hannigan, "the Web site is real. And all the money's going to go to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital."

To bid on some of the outfits Hannigan has worn in the show, go to www.lilyandmarshallselltheirstuff.com

"I've picked a bunch of outfits that I wore on the show. I really felt like Lily," Hannigan says of the experience. She says she would hold up an outfit and think, "I love this dress" and then put it aside for charity because "it's a good cause."

PEOPLE: K-Fed's Attorney - Britney & Kevin's Relationship Improved
Posted on 12 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

There may be a thaw in the formerly contentious relationship between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, suggests K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Spears, who last week was awarded more visitation time with her sons by Federline (Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1), was the topic of discussion for Kaplan, on Monday's Today show.

Kaplan said that the judge's decision at last week's ruling reflected an "improvement" in Spears's condition. She spent full days, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on both May 8th and Mother's Day with her sons.

Asked about the current status of the relationship between the couple – including the rumor they would again star together on a TV show – Kaplan sidestepped any direct answers, instead saying that any potential reconciliation between Spears and Federline would be for the sake of their sons. (Britney makes her second appearance on CBS's How I Met Your Mother Monday night.)

"If you're going to have two parents participate in the lives of raising their children," said Kaplan, "there has to be some camaraderie between them for that to be a meaningful expectation and reality."

But are things better between the ex-husband and wife?

"When you go from where things were, when there was no visitation, to where they are now," said Kaplan, "there will be some contact … there'd be some ability to exchange a camaraderie that is necessary and a function of co-parenting together."

Aunt Says "Britney back on track"
Posted on 12 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

American pop star Britney Spears' aunt has confirmed that the troubled singer is well again.

Chanda Mcgovern has given credit to Spears' parents Jamie and Lynne for getting their daughter back on track, stating that, had they not interfered, the singer would not have recovered so well.

"We didn't know if she'd make it through the next day and we're all very proud of her now," The Sun quoted her as saying.

"This time last year everyone was in turmoil," she said.

Mcgovern also added that the problems could have started because of Britney's attitude.

"She is very headstrong and doesn't like being told what to do," Mcgovern said.

"I hope she'll never walk down that path again and I think she's got a bright future," she added.

To prove that her aunt was right about her, Spears was seen looking much better than before as she stepped out in Hollywood, without the scruffy look she usually sported.

She was spotted having dinner with billionaire George Maloof in Hollywood, and speculations are on that the pair are working on a career revival.

Besides turning her life around, the mum-of-two has also conquered viewers with her 'How I Met Your Mother cameo'. The show became such a huge success, that she was invited back for a second episode.

Britney Spears could do third 'Mother' visit
Posted on 11 May 2008 by Anita | 0 Comments

Show's co-creator says she could return next season

Three times may be the charm for Britney Spears and "How I Met Your Mother."

With Spears making her second guest appearance on the abruptly popular CBS comedy, the show's co-creator Craig Thomas tells THR.com that Monday's episode was written to leave the door open for the pop singer to make a return appearance next season.

"She was better than the first time and I think the fans will enjoy it because her return answers a larger mystery set up earlier in the series," Thomas said. "So there's a good plot reason why she's there. And when people watch Britney's second appearance on the show they'll see that the door is still open for her to come back."

Spears first visit resulted in "Mother" hitting its highest rating ever. The show has since maintained an elevated audience level compared to last year. Once considered on the bubble for a fall renewal, the critically acclaimed comedy is now considered a lock to return next season.

US Mag: Britney Spears Makes Surprise Visit to 'Rock The Cradle'
Posted on 09 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

Britney Spears surprised "Rock The Cradle" contestants Thursday night by unexpectedly showing up for the season finale to support her former manager and friend Larry Rudolph.

"Rock The Cradle" pits aspiring pop stars, who have rock and roll in their DNA, against one another. The finale, which was broadcast on MTV, featured Jess Blaze Snider, son of Dee Snider; Crosby Loggins, son of Kenny Loggins; and Chloe Lattanzi, daughter of Olivia Newton John. Rudolph judged the competition.

Spears spent the duration of the show seated backstage surrounded by security. After the show, Rudolph told usmagazine.com, "She was here to support the show. I mentioned to her that I was going to my show. She said, ‘I want to come down.’ She loved it. She really loved it. She didn't come here for publicity or anything like that. She came here because she wanted to see the show, which I appreciated."

Spears headed to the show after spending the day with her two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston. It was the first extended visit since she, along with her parents Lynne and Jamie Spears, appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court Tuesday for a custody hearing, where she was granted extended visitation rights by Commissioner Scott Gordon.

Is Britney Moving To Encino?
Posted on 08 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

The pop star, driven by her bodyguard, spent Wednesday afternoon looking at a 7,300 square foot house in Encino. The five-bedroom, six and half bath house in currently listed for $5.96 million. The Mediterranean style home has vaulted ceilings, fireplace, fountains, hot tub, pool with spa, wine cellar, indoor and outdoor dining room, family room, spiral stair case and a designer kitchen with island and stainless steel appliances.

Spears spent 45 minutes with a realtor carefully looking at the house, which is not far from Kevin Federline's place in Tarzana. But there could be a wrinkle in the plan.

She can't buy this on her $1,500 a week allowance and will need to get her dad's permission to authorize this purchase. Her father Jamie, along with a co-conservator, is currently in charge of Spears' assets until July 31.
Prior to being placed under the care of a conservatorship, Spears had an expensive habit of purchasing properties, including her $10 million-plus Malibu estate and her current mansion atop Beverly Hills.
Life & Style: "I Got My Body Back"
Posted on 08 May 2008 by Chris | 0 Comments

April 28 was just another day in Britney Spears' healthy new life. The star, who has recently swapped fast-food runs for daily workouts, hit her regular Bally Total Fitness facility in Studio City, Calif., for an hour-long Spinning class.

After the session, Britney stopped to chat with Life & Style. "I'm always happy when I'm done," she said, before offering some one-on-one insight into her favorite cardio workout — hitting the dance floor. "To me, dancing doesn't even feel like exercise," Britney, 26, continued. "I love it."

The gym isn't the only place where Britney's getting serious. The former junk-food addict is shaping up in the kitchen, too. "Her eating habits were so bad, and she ate so sporadically, doctors suggested her dad do everything he could to get Britney to eat three times a day," says a family insider. Britney's dad, Jamie, has taken the advice one step further and has put Britney on a healthy diet.

Some of Brit's motivation is fueled by wanting to fit into her old clothes, but she's really focused on regaining her physique to revitalize her career— and benefit her little boys. Says the family insider, "Britney wants to be healthier for Sean Preston and Jayden James," who are living with their dad, Kevin Federline, full time. "Almost everything she does brings her one step closer to getting her boys back."

Fox News: K-Fed 'Pleased With Britney's Progress'
Posted on 07 May 2008 by Anita | 0 Comments

Britney Spears ' track record for actually making it into the courtroom at the Los Angeles Superior Court hasn't been exactly superior, and for a moment the pop princess almost bailed on Tuesday's proceedings.

After speculation from a security guard that Spears was "freaking out" while waiting in a room at the courthouse, a somber-looking songstress finally entered at 9:36 a.m., 10 minutes after Kevin Federline and his posse paraded inside.

Federline's media-lovin' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, made sure to turn around and have a good ol' stare and wave to his "friends" in the press seated at the back of the room.

Brit (sporting a bad blonde weave) didn't exchange as much as a glance with her former flame as she was comforted by one of her lawyers before the commissioner granted a request for the courtroom to be cleared.

A court insider told Pop Tarts that Britney "needed a break" after about 55 minutes in session. She left looking particularly distraught with red, weeping eyes and smudged eyeliner as she held the hand of her lawyer for a five-minute breather in a private room, only to take a much longer break just a few minutes later.

On a more positive note, at least the love between Brit and mama Lynne looks restored as we spotted the Miss and Mrs. Spears holding hands as the pop star exited and re-entered the courtroom. (For the record, Lynne looked particularly young and gorgeous.)

But that's not the only tidbit of affection that came out of the proceedings; a spokesperson for Kevin told us after the hearing was over that Fed-Ex is "pleased" with how our girl is doing.

"It's a step in the right direction," Kaplan added.

That's right. We're proud of the pop princess who turned up on time, smiled through her tears and looked good (except for that bad blonde wig).

Brit was granted expanded visitation rights to her two sons on Tuesday during the child-custody hearing. Interestingly, she wasn't the only music mogul in the building -- apparently, ex- Guns N' Roses strummer Slash was downstairs on jury duty.

People: Britney & Kevin to Meet in Court
Posted on 06 May 2008 by Anita | 0 Comments

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are both expected to attend a hearing in Los Angeles family court Tuesday for a progress review, sources confirm.

Though Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble – experts say it's unlikely the pair's current custody arrangement will change.

"As long as Britney remains under a conservatorship, she has a long way to go before the court views her as a capable mother," says L.A. family lawyer Scott Weston, who is not involved in the case.

Spears, who was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward in January, currently has monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week -- but no overnight privileges. Her father, Jamie, and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing.

Spears has a spotty record of attending previous court hearings: On at least two occasions, the singer briefly appeared then abruptly left -- in part due to the media frenzy.

Since her father took control of Spears's life, the singer has been spending more time with her family -- including her previously estranged mom. (She recently attended a baby shower for her sister, Jamie Lynn, in Kentwood, La.)

First Picture of Britney's Return To How I Met Your Mother
Posted on 05 May 2008 by Anita | 0 Comments

Here is the first image from the upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother which once again features Britney Spears as Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist's office. The episode will focus on Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Abby (Britney Spears) realizing that they have one thing in common -- their mutual hatred of Ted (Josh Radnor) -- and deciding to go to the bar to flaunt their new relationship in Ted's face.

"I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn't wait to come back," Britney said in a statement Monday. "I was really looking forward to working with this cast and crew again. Everyone was so nice. Abby is going to have a lot of fun!"

The episode airs on May 12th.
